I am a self-taught paper floral artist. I aim to create beautiful and one-of-a-kind paper floral pieces that capture your imagination, capture a special feeling, or capture a moment in time. My pieces can be dramatic or romantic, and always, timeless and everlasting. I strive to create floral pieces that look realistic and delicate. My inspiration comes from my garden, so naturally, my aesthetic is garden-inspired.
My passion for paper flower making originated from my earliest memory of making paper flowers by hand. I distinctively recall making a rose out of burnt orange twist paper at an after school program during my elementary school years. Fast forward 20 years later, I naturally turned to paper floral art as my focus for my wedding centrepieces and bouquets. After my experience of creating beautiful centrepieces, bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres, I was hooked. The whole process of designing something beautiful and memorable aligned with my ambition to create beautiful art work.
What began as a nostalgic return to my arts & craft days became a passion. In August 2016, I took the plunge and Crafted to Bloom was born. My son’s birth in October gave me a whole new perspective on life and beauty. Since then, my artistic growth has flourished. I have been featured on 100 Layer Cake, Lia Griffith's Artist Interview Series, The Paper Place, WedLuxe Magazine, and Holt Refrew's Holiday Magazine, to name a few.
Presently, I only offer custom designed paper florals and floral arrangements client by client, and I only take on a limited number of commissions each year.
I also teach workshop, instruct private classes/lessons, and offer online learning through Bloom with Jessie.
I am currently working on a paper flower book, due to be released in Fall 2019 through GMC Publications.
